Life in Junior College has started

Thursday was the first day of school in Yishun Junior College (YJC). Growing up in neighborhood schools, coming to yet another neighborhood school is of course something common for me. Of course there are people around saying that YJC may not be the most ideal school for one to be in, but ultimately it's still for you to judge on your own.

Luckily, I had few friends who had entered the same school as I am, from both primary and secondary school. This made me feel that I am not alone in this whole new environment. Since school has just started, it was just orientation. So we were split into our orientation groups (OG) by our birth dates ! (: Yeahhhh, JULY babies FTW! 😁😁

Here is my OG, OG18 !! HURAYYY! We may not be the best OG but to me, we are the BEST! 😊

The people in OG18 both the OGLs and OG mates are all so friendly! They made me felt so welcomed to YJC. Moreover they made the environment in YJC so warm and family-liked.

At the same time I heard from some friends that the other JCs were having talk the whole day while here I am, playing games during orientation. Also, others orientation lasted for 3-4 days while in YJC, orientation would last for 7 days ! Isn't YJC just so cool on their own? 😊

Co-incidentally, in my OG I had a friend from the same school as I am, and also a goodfriend's  brother! Singapore is such a small place to be in, don't you think so?

So day 1 went smoothly but we were still slightly awkward with one another. However by the second day, I could feel the bonds between us growing stronger as the time passes!

We played games together as a team, allowing us to understand one another better and learning team spirit ! 😊

On the first day, we learnt cheers. And on the second day, we learnt dance ! It wasn't just a usual dance but a dance which requires a partner of the opposite sex ! I could practically say it was my first dance, but whatever, it's fun that matters ! ✌ The dance was quite funny have different weird moves but well, the process of learning was enjoyable. Honestly, I think I've forgotten what the dance was like by now. HAHAH. 😝

And here we are cam waring while waiting for other groups to assemble after the Amazing race which was held within the school compound. Guess what, OG18 came in 1st place ! 😁😁

On the whole, the first 2 days were fun and enjoyable and I hope the remaining days of orientation to come would be more exciting and memorable! 😁

Back after O's

Hi everyone ! So.. it's been awhile since I last blogged but no worries, I'll write a long post this time to compensate (: Though my last paper was on 15th Nov and now is already 28th Nov, yes, there's like 13 days of freedom till now, but there's still so many things that I want to do but I don't get the time to or the chance to. These things are like going for courses but most are fully booked or no classes during holidays except for short holiday classes. Also, I wanted to have a day just for myself aka Me Time, but I was so busy from the end of O's till now. Even before O's ended, as the papers in nov were quite scattered with a week break between papers, I went out shopping for Prom stuffs and catching up with friends instead of studying ! :p Hahas, example of a badass kid is me!

My prom is on 21st of Nov at Conrad Continental so my clique and I booked a room at MBS for 21-22nd. We booked the premier room for only SGD$280 nett. Freaking CHEAP lor ! If you went to MBS website and try to book, you'd know that Nov is a holiday period so the room rates would be higher like SGD$400-600. So we were lucky to be able to book the room for this price. My friends and I also hired a make-up artist who styled our hair and did our make up for us. She's pretty professional too! (:

This is me on the way to Prom.

My two other friends who shared the same make-up artist as me.

As usual, since it's a prom, we all partied and spammed taking photos and Polaroid. Oh yah, the theme for my prom was Masquerade and so I decided to wear black with a touch of gold. My heels has a gold plate and a gold bracelet.

My friend wearing a mask for the theme.

After partying, my clique and I went down to cine to catch a midnight movie. Honestly, my leg was turning jelly and felt like it could break anytime after wearing heels for a night. This happened because I don't really wear heels except for occasions (: We watched The Hunger Games: Catching Fire . I would say, the movie is as good as the first series and the first 1.5hr of the 2.5hr movie was practically talking and boring stuffs. Only about the last hour then the game started and the ending was kinda abrupt too. But I've also heard many others saying that it was really nice so I guess it's up to each preference?

Concluding our prom, and just before we all went to wash up, we took a clique photo in the toilet ! :p HAHAHS, yes, we're awesome like this.

The specialty of MBS is of course their casino and sky park swimming pool. We are underage to enter the casino of course, but we wouldn't give the swimming pool a miss too. As each room was only entitled to 4 tickets to the sky park and we have 8 person in total, so one of us who didn't went prom explored the pool the first day while the rest were in prom. So 4 out of the other 7 then went up on the 2nd day morning.

At the pool.

As seen in the background, you could see almost the whole Singapore. The view was magnificent and you could also see the borders of the Island. If you ever have a chance to stay there, DON'T give swimming a miss !

Concluding the day, we went for lunch before going home. At first we wanted to go for Kbox but we were too tired to sacrifice our beauty sleeps :p

After prom came my Sec 4 class chalet. It's on 25-27th Nov. Coincidentally, my pri 6 class chalet was also at the same time 26th Nov. Coincidentally again, they're both at Coasta Sands. Hahas, but one was at Coasta Sands (Downtown East) while other was at the Coasta Sands (Pasir Ris), just side by side. I went down in the evening on 25th for BBQ and stayed over. As it was drizzling now and then, it was quite difficult to BBQ. Also, somehow they bought so much chicken because there were Buddhist who cannot eat beef and Muslim who cannot eat pork. So I practically ate chicken for the whole BBQ, till the extend that I could puke when I see chicken. It was like, chicken meat, chicken nugget then chicken winglet then chicken nugget then chicken chop. Because it's the BBQ night, there were a number of people staying over too. So there was a shortage of space to sleep and many did not get to sleep at all or like me, Didn't have a good night sleep due to the frequent wakings throughout the night.

On the second day morning, we had breakfast then they decided to go cycling. All of us walked to the bicycle rental shop together. There is actually two rental shop in the Pasir Ris Park and we went to the one further away from the Downtown East, nearer to Pasir Ris MRT. In the end, 4 of us, including me decided not to cycle. As the rest would be cycling for 2hrs, we decided to head back to the chalet first. We played "cheat" ( a kind of game using cards) for a short while before all of us fell asleep as we were very tired. HAHAHS, and we were named LDC (Lan Duo Chong, means lazy bum) cause we slept so much ! When the rest came back, we went for lunch before most of them went home. In the afternoon as it was raining, we stayed in the chalet to play till the rain subsided before heading to swim in the evening. Actually we wanted to go Wild Wild Wet but could not as one of my friend fell down while cycling.

After swimming, I went down to my pri school chalet to join them for BBQ. However, when I arrived, there were chicken wings left only with a little otah. I was like, " OH GOSH! CHICKEN AGAIN?! FML " . HAHAH. But I was too hungry and still ate it. Then I catches up with few friends and taught them to play "asshole Dai Di" ( a game played with poker cards too but no gambling involved ) . Sadly, I didn't entirely enjoyed the time spent there I would say. Partially was because most of them were in the chalet playing among themselves with only few of us left out so we played together. Another reason was because their paying system was screwed up totally. In my sec 4 chalet, people who came for BBQ payed for the food only while those staying would pay for the chalet too. However, in the pri 6 chalet, everyone whether or not you're staying, you have to pay for the chalet. I was like " WTH... I'm like throwing money down the drain". When I asked why we need to pay for the chalet even when we are not staying and one of them was like to be fair. How I this even fair?! Somemore the Coasta Sands (Pasir Ris) is like a bungalow kind and instead, only about 12-14 people stayed over. So few people for such a big bungalow?! It's their choice of chalet yet they expect all to pay for them? After this experience, I'm not going for their BBQ anymore if they're booking chalet, unless they book BBQ pits then I would go. This is totally bullshit cause I wasn't even full and had to eat after going back to the other chalet.

Guess what I ate? CHICKEN AGAIN. KFC this time. I could puke at the sight of chicken already man. It's as if I was having a chicken marathon for the past few days. On the second night, only 6 of us were staying in the chalet so we were all finally able to get a good rest. It's was FANTASTIC ! We wanted to wake up early and set alarms but ended up switching off all and went back to sleep like a log! HAHAH! :p We then woke up at 9.50am and realized, checking out time was 10.30am ! We went " FML" hahah! We rushed and luckily was in time.

We then went for breakfast at Mac again and this time only 4 of us which just nice, were all from the same clique. At Mac, I met my pri school friends and it was so awkward. I didn't know to say hi or not and they all turned and stared at me. >_<  After breakfast we all went home and this was how the chalet ended.

Later that day, I had a nails appointment and I went to do manicure! The shop is at People's Park Centre, Chinatown mrt. It's glitzyfingers and if you ever go there, pls request for the boss who is Belle. Her nail arts are really pretty but her helper was not so good. My nails were done by the helper and it wasn't that neat too.

This is my nails (:

You can also customize your own nails which I did. The gel Nail polish is a standard of SGD $38 and for nail art, it's an additional of $5 each finger.

After that, I went for a job interview and finally, after going to 2 job agency and 1 job interview, I got a job at the 3rd job agency. It's like finally and they're efficient. Today I went to fill in the forms and today I was offered a job. But the only bad thing is that payment is only out 3 weeks after work end and I'm in a need of money! ): Still, I'm happy I got a job.

Then I went to eat Strictly Pancakes with a friend. It was awesome and super filling even though Both of us shared a plate of pancakes. The price is like $5.50 -$17 for pancakes and they have finger food too like wedges and all. You can search if up in google. There have been many people raving about it and it was... DELICIOUS! WAY BETTER than the Mac pancakes I ate in the morning. Hahahas! It's near Dhoby Ghaut Mrt but you need to walk for about 5 mins after getting out from exit A. On the way, we shopped at The Cathay though there was nothing but we were so Sua Ku ( means like country pumpkin ) that we didn't go there before.

Lastly, in the evening, she went home while I went back to Chinatown for the holiday trip briefing. Yep, I would be going to Korea in Dec. It'll be winter and I hate chills ): But I still hope that it'd be fun though !

Okay, this shall be it for this post or it would be too long ! This is seriously the longest post I ever wrote! Bye guys and till the next post (:

Part and puzzle of life

" Friends come and go but only true friend stay "

Most of you would have heard of this saying before. Some people maybe believe in it while others may not. All these while, I did not really took this saying into much consideration. I've always believed that the relationship between people are based on how much effort both parties put in to make it last.

However, I was finally proved wrong. Indeed, in this world, there are friends who seems to be a good friend at this moment and the next, it's was like *puiuff* they changed 180 degree. At the end of the day, a person can have many friends but only few true friends.

No matter what, if it's meant to yours it will be so I'm just going to let nature take its course then (:

It's today

Hello everyone, it's been long since I last posted ! As many of you know, today is my birthday and yes, I'm 16 now ! (: Haha, many were saying that I can now watch NC16 movies !

I recieved many presents, cards and well wishes (: Here, I would like to thank all those who wished me happy birthday for your well wishes, Thank you so much (:

Though today was my birthday, I had 2 friends who came came to my house at 11pm plus just to deliver a birthday cake and supper ! How thoughtful of them (: Love you gals ! (: In school, the class sang birthday song for me and some gave me presents too (: It was like this, our school had this haze drill to prepare us for situation when the haze becomes an unhealthy level so as graduating classes, we are not allowed to go horn and had to continue lessons at the computer labs. So, we evacuated to the com lab, and my friend passed another friemd's phone to me. I placed it on the table and forgot to take it while leaving the com lab to return to class! Hahah, the usual forgetful me. So I went back to collect the phone with my form teacher. And when I returned to class, the class just went silent all of a sudden and started singing the Happy Birthday Song! It was quite embarrassing luh, cause like you had all the attention on you but it was quite memorable too! (:

Another to mention the present give by my clique ! It was soooo cute ! hahah! On sun, I went to sentosa with one of them with the intention to cycle but in the end, the rain ruined our plans so we went to sit in a Starbucks. As we were leaving, I just randomly commented about wanting to get one of the Starbucks tumbler but because I had a bottle at home, it would be a waste to get one. But who knows, they bought it for me on my birthday which is 16th July, Tues ! Shocking, wasn't it? I still can't believe that just a leisure comment would turn out to become reality ! On too of the tumbler, they also added an UNCOOKED EGG with the wordings of " HAPPY BIRTHDAY " and " θΏ™ζ˜―δΈ€δΈͺηˆ±εΏƒζ—©ι€"written on it ! It was give to me so that I could cook it make it my breakfast which is made with love ! HAHAH. Can you believe it?? it's a freaking uncooked egg ! They're like so innovative and cool, I couldn't have imagined nor expected someone giving me an uncooked egg! It was so funny that I stood there laughing awkwardly for quite awhile when I received the present !

It would be too long for me to mention all the presents so, I'll cut it short. Pictures of them are posted on my Instagram, @eileeeen_leong , you can follow me there (: I've read all the cards and I feel so touched and loved! Anyway, I enjoyed myself very much and Thanks everyone for their well wishes, presents and Cards ! (: Love you guys and gals ! (:

Freedom

I just can't wait for O Levels to be over, yet at the same time fearing for it's arrival. Totally contradicting myself, yes I know. Try imagining what life would be after O's is like a dream. Freedom from school, studies, stress, pressure and more! Wouldn't life be AWESOME?! Though it may seem like a fairytale, we all know that it is temporary too. The day for the release of the O levels result would then be another nightmare for all of us.

Consciously I do know that time is running out, I need to get down to work and pull up my socks but I just don't seem to have the motivation there, the will do well. It feels like I am living my life aimlessly, whereas others have big dreams of what they want their life to be in the future and their ambitions or simply which school they would like to go to next. Having an aim motivates one to do well, but i don't know why either, I just can't seem to find an aim.

Yes, I know life would be though from now till O's, but I know that if I have the will to do well, I will. So, I will try to motivate myself to start studying before it's too late.

It's your choice

If I were to tell you now that everything in life is all about choices, would you believe me? And now, whether you believe or not, it is a choice of yours, yes, you're choosing.
Actually, I do agree that everything in life is just about choices you make at different junctions of your life. Honestly, whenever someone says " I don't have a choice, this is the only way " , it's not that person doesn't have a choice but it's just that he/she chose to run away from the problem.
Throughout my life ( though it's just a few years ) I've changed. Many told me that I've changed a lot and I do agree. Thinking back, I believe it was my choice to back then. What have been done is done, it's pointless even if I were to say " I regret, I really do " now.  Nothing can still change the fact that I've changed. NOTHING. Neither can I be back to who I was back then. All we can do is to continue to change for the better.
I really wonder if the choice I make this time is right... There is no right or wrong but the question is, is this the best for all?? Everything seemed to changed. A person who doesn't have a barrier with anyone especially good friends have changed to become someone who feels the barrier with everyone. I wish I knew the reason behind it but no ones seems to be able to give me an answer, even god. Is this my fate or is this my destiny..?
No matter how sad you may be, you can always chose to be happy and you will be in no time.

"IF AND ONLY IF" I knew the answer to everything, all the choices I made.

Time for a party

Today was a friend's birthday ( actual day ) and though it's still the prelims period, but who cares, it's like, ever since the tougher subjects are over, it's a self-declared " end of exams " and people are going out for lunch and celebrations. I'm of no exception, of course! And this being so, I went out for a birthday celebration (:
A cookies and cream birthday cake from polar!
The birthday girl, Lam! well, here name is not lam, it's her surname, just that we calls her that (:
Make a wish, blow the candles and of course...
Cut the cake!

The present we made for Lam. With love and sincerity! HAHAHS. it's nice isn't it? (:

After that, we had lunch at a food fair in AMK Hub and stole some utensils just to eat the cake ( not literally steal, just took extra utensils, like so AUNTY ! HAHAHAH! ) .
I wouldn't consider today as a fun day, but yeah, more like a day to hang out with this bunch of awesome friends...? (:

Oh no... I just remembered that I've got PTC for one of my co-curriculum class tomorrow. That's crap, I don't really enjoy PTC cause yeah, students are just students and always disliking what teachers complain about them to parents. Argh, so annoying. But still, that's just life as a student...
